Students must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for admission. Applications are accepted beginning January 1st of each year and must be received no later than April 1st. Qualified applicants are contacted to arrange a peer conducted interview. Accepted students will be informed of their placement in May and the program will begin in June. Acceptance is based on evaluation of prior educational and work experience, professional references, and personal interview.
At the conclusion of the admission process, six applicants are chosen for the new class. Classes are generally limited to six 6 students. The committee also selects two alternates if one of the six prospective students declines. Each student must complete 40 hours per week to fulfill the mandatory academic and clinical requirements. These requirements include formal classroom instruction as well as supervised clinical practice in all phases of sonography. The hour week is scheduled Monday through Friday on varying schedules.
