Vitas jacksonville florida

Cons POOR management. Okay place to work. No career advancement at all. It was a pleasure helping families and coordinating hospice care.

Multiple changes were made and a lot of people left. Overall horrible job culture. Unreasonable expectations. Vitas does NOT value the opinion of their workers. Vitas cares about making money, not taking care of people.

I would never recommend. Pros Good amount of PTO. Cons Everything except the amount of PTO. VITAS is an amazing company. Throughout the pandemic they have cared for their employees well, while still maintaining patient quality of care commitments. This a a positive work environment.

Would you recommend working at your company? Help people considering your employer make a good choice. The actual work within the scope of my discipline was among the best experiences I've ever had. I had the absolute privilege of meeting individuals and families and providing emotional and spiritual support. I heard amazing stories, shared in their grief, and looked with them for hope and meaning in the midst of difficult circumstances.

The corporate side of the job is, unfortunately, in need of improvement. The corporate culture, overall, was a distraction to the core service provided. A sense of calling helped me remain focused, but the corporate culture eroded my overall morale and made it extremely difficult to keep that focus.

Pros Amazing patients, many wonderful coworkers on the local level. Cons Unhelpful corporate culture, unreasonable expectations for work volume. After leaving I would not return. Pros Flexible schedule. Cons Everything. Poor managers, some lack respect, no field support, nurses are underpaid and overwhelmed, they micromanage their employees, and paper documentation is very time consuming. Get rid of paper documentation and make the switch to EHR, pay nurses more and show empathy to frontline nurses.

Pros Flexibility. Cons Micromanage employees, high stress, not much support in the field. NEVER work here! Unless you have no moral or ethic compass and do not point out anything to executive leadership items that are wrong or unethical or you will pay the price.

Poor leadership at multiple levels of the company. Pay is mediocre. Benefits are expensive and offer less than average benefit. Only 3 per year offered and PTO must be used to get paid for them. Staff are overworked. Management is an inept clique in various levels of the organization. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Cons All the above. Program Scheduler - Clerk HR Clerk. Good work life balance , great team, hard work , easy to apply. Ok management , fair pay.

Good hours.. Good experience. Love the patients. Cons None. Initially was a good place to work. Over time you started seeing change. Long time staff started leaving for better job offers. A CNA was required to sit for a team meeting for 2 hours once a week. CNAs were never talked to during meeting. Meeting is a care plan meeting for each patient. The aides were rarely recognized. Pay was a joke. New hires would come in higher pay than long time staff. Sad reality for all industries paperwork was ridiculous.

Lack of support from your team and management. No one bothers to check on you. Field staff was responsible for solving issues due to lack of communication and false promises of other staff. Pros Pto. Cons Lack of communication, no concern for employees, PTO worthless with lack of staff.

I have a sense of purpose in what I do. Most coworkers are friendly and eager to help. High turnover rate for administration and management. A sense of very little support from management. Very little staff, so nurse to patient ratios feel unrealistic and stressful to manage. Get great PTO but unfortunately are never able to use it.

Terrible pay. Pros Staff. Cons Pay, Pto, nurse patient ratios, insurance. I learned alot working. Environment friendly. Team work and great experience. Everyday challenges and managers are will to support and assist. Would work here again. Pros Good benefits. Cons Paid is not great. Working with the managers and teams members are great. You can get questions answered. There is lots of driving if you don't mind the distance.

There are computer skills needed as well as having the time to do written paper work. Cost details are provided for free, just fill out your information below to see starting costs for all communities! Every staff member that came to our home was very professional, kind and knowledgeable. It gave me peace knowing I wasnt by myself.. Make sure you have someone who can be with you when the staffing is limited. I will always be greatful I am a past client of this provider 5 3 1.

Faith Inconsistent care. Never know when staff will visit. Almost a total lack of emotional support. I visited this facility 5 1 1. Other 5 5 1. Joeaff While it has been nearly 3 months since my wife of 34 year's passing on to breast cancer while receiving final hospice care from Vitas, I find it important that I write an honest and forth right critique of our families experiences with Vitas Healthcare.

I had called at the time of her passing to voice this same opinion offered below but no one ever called me back and only served to make our impression of this company even worse. While the staff were all very professional and well intentioned, I found their system of sharing information with the other Vitas staff members not all in sync nor were their staff fully kept informed of services provided to my wife by other staff members assigned to her final care.

We had Vitas Healthcare for just 5 days back in early June until my wife's passing and there were no less than 4 or 5 times over this period that it seemed the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing within their organization so to speak..

On one occasion one of the staff drivers failed to fully read the work order and call for additional back up help when he was near to our home to deliver another bed, another time one of the staff unauthorized and by mistake cancelled out completely the start of daily personal care taking for my wife.

Therefore I could or would never recommend in good conscience Vitas Health Care to anyone. Vitas is simply to large a company and not nearly a conscionable healthcare provider given what seemed obvious I would welcome further dialogue with senior management so that other families do not suffer from the same neglect and pain that we suffered.

I am a past client of this provider 5 1 1. I recommend Vitas to anyone. I can honestly say I love my nurses and all staff and love my Chaplin! The love and care I'm shown surpasses anything I've ever had. Thank you Vitas! I am a current client of this provider 5 5 1. Our father has been with them a little over 2 months.

We are trying to get transferred to another Hospice provider. The nurses are extremely nice however it is very obvious the company is terribly understaffed. They do not have the staff on hand to provide the services that they are contracted to provide. Evidently this is an ongoing problem with them as we have seen numerous negative reviews and had several people tell us they had transferred to another provider due to the staffing issues.

I am a current client of this provider 5 1 1. Acuff I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but in this case I felt it necessary. We have been clients of Vitas for less than a week and I am extremely disappointed in the service we have received thus far.

We were told we would have around the clock care for my father for the first 72 hours after coming home from the hospital. We had one nurse for the first 9 hours, and then no one else arrived. We have called every day and we are told they are short handed and will send someone right away.

No one ever shows and another day and night passes with my mother and me taking turns taking care of my father with less and less sleep. We are exhausted! We have yet to receive all the medications and equipment we have been told my father needs and that we have been assured of receiving from this company.

Every day for the past 3 days an assessment nurse has arrived to take down the same information all over again, make promises to take care of everything immediately, and leave. We are still waiting. I'm sorry to say that I would, under no circumstances, recommend this company to anyone. Everyone we have talked to has been very nice and full of assurances, but not a single promise has been fulfilled.

They were very good, very understanding, frank and very personal. They provide my mom bi-weekly nurse, they provide supplies, medications and they have it delivered at the house.
